The High Country Open Space Commercial Work Time-Space Continuum Living Color Past is Prologue Pure Water Winter Light ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHER BARBARA MICHELMAN Photographer Barbara Michelman began working in Hollywood in the 1970's. She was one of the first women in the film lighting union and worked in all the major studios. Her work ranges from product, travel, portrait , and concerts  and events  photography, to the more experimental  fine art digital  imaging and  alternative process printing. Her work  has  been exhibited in the United States and Europe and can be found in corporate and private collections on both continents. She holds a degree in Philosophy from UC Berkeley. ABOUT HER WORK Barbara Michelman's  work reflects her  interest in  the intersection between nature and mystery.  She continues to explore  meaning through shape and form, expressing her belief that the "environment" is not an object outside ourselves but an illuminating  process of  mutual engagement.
